Lamb vs. Mutton

For those who wonder what the difference between Lamb and Mutton is, it is simple; Lamb is a full size sheep under 1 year of age when the flavor of the meat is mild and most tender. Mutton, on the other hand, comes from sheep older than 1 year old. Mutton is usually stronger flavored due to the higher fat content.
For your information, we usually do not offer Mutton for sale but if you are interested just ask us

SHEEP CARE

We take pride in the care we put into our sheep. Our sheep have free range of our 75 acre homestead as they mingle with the cows, goats and chickens. All our sheep are primarily grass-fed with the exception of a small amount of oats I feed them every evening. They love the oats and it gives them a reason to come up to the barn at night which keeps them from predators at night.
